HEELS

Heels is a newer style that is most seen in Pop, Hip Hop & R&B Music Videos. Our classes will offer you a range of styles within heels whether it be sexy and sensual, powerful and upbeat, chair dances, floor work, hip hop heels, etc. Heels dance really is any kind of dance you want... in a heel!

A drop in class consists of a warm up, stretch, dancer's workout, technique & skill training, & a short piece of choreography (referred to as the combo). Drop in classes are 1 hour in length, allowing time at the end of class to perform the choreography learned for yourself to film.

Do I have to wear heels?
Nope! You can always take a heels class in running shoes or bare feet until you build the strength and comfort to wear heels.

What heels should I bring?
Any height of heel that you feel comfortable in; for beginners we suggest a chunky heel with ankle support, like a bootie style.

 

SNEAKERS

Sneakers is our intro level class to hip hop and jazz funk. This class will teach you the basics of these urban and street styles and provide you with the foundations to use in any other class!

A drop in class consists of a warm up, stretch, dancer's workout, technique & skill training, & a short piece of choreography (referred to as the combo). Drop in classes are 1 hour in length, allowing time at the end of class to perform the choreography learned for yourself to film.

What shoes do I wear?
We suggest wearing sneakers (makes sure they are clean, indoor shoes!)

 

JAZZ FUNK

Jazz Funk is a blend of the urban & street styles of Hip Hop and the more technical influences of Jazz. It is designed to have broad appeal while still having a kind of magic and thrill in its execution.

A drop in class consists of a warm up, stretch, dancer's workout, technique & skill training, & a short piece of choreography (referred to as the combo). Drop in classes are 1 hour in length, allowing time at the end of class to perform the choreography learned for yourself to film.

What shoes do I wear?
We suggest wearing sneakers (makes sure they are clean, indoor shoes!)

 

 

HIP HOP

Hip hop dance is a range of street dance styles primarily performed to hip hop music or that have evolved as part of hip hop culture. It is influenced by a wide range of styles that were created in the 1970s and made popular by dance crews in the United States. It borrows elements from a number of different styles like African dance, tap, and ballet.

A drop in class consists of a warm up, stretch, dancer's workout, technique & skill training, & a short piece of choreography (referred to as the combo). Drop in classes are 1 hour in length, allowing time at the end of class to perform the choreography learned for yourself to film.

What shoes do I wear?
We suggest wearing sneakers (makes sure they are clean, indoor shoes!)

 

CONTEMPORARY

Contemporary dance is a style of interpretive dance that embraces innovation, blending techniques from various genres, including classical ballet, jazz, modern dance, and lyrical dance.

A drop in class consists of a warm up, stretch, dancer's workout, technique & skill training, & a short piece of choreography (referred to as the combo). Drop in classes are 1 hour in length, allowing time at the end of class to perform the choreography learned for yourself to film.

What shoes do I wear?
We suggest wearing socks or foot "undies" or opt to go barefoot

 

JAZZ

Jazz dance is a performance dance and style that arose in the United States in the mid 20th century. This high-energy dance has a liveliness that sets it apart from traditional dance forms, such as classical ballet.

A drop in class consists of a warm up, stretch, dancer's workout, technique & skill training, & a short piece of choreography (referred to as the combo). Drop in classes are 1 hour in length, allowing time at the end of class to perform the choreography learned for yourself to film.

Do I have to wear jazz shoes?
Nope! You can wear socks, foot undies or go barefoot.

TAP

Tap dance is a form of dance characterized by using the sounds of tap shoes striking the floor as a form of percussion. 

A drop in class consists of a warm up, stretch, dancer's workout, technique & skill training, & a short piece of choreography (referred to as the combo). Drop in classes are 1 hour in length, allowing time at the end of class to perform the choreography learned for yourself to film.

Do I have to wear tap shoes?

No, but it is recommended so you can get the most out of class! You can also try sneakers!

BALLET

Ballet is the basic foundation for most forms of dance. What you learn in ballet translates to values that can be used to pursue other forms of dance. The alignment and musicality are only some examples of important qualities in most dance styles.

A drop in ballet class consists of a warm up, stretch, dancer's workout, technique & skill training, barre exercises, across the floor and centre work.

Do I have to wear ballet shoes?
Nope! You can wear cozy socks!
